MANITOU BEACH IN THE FALL
Time hasn’t been kind to the lake itself. Between heavy rains and melting snow in the spring, the lake has overfloweth slowing inching its way up the beach and drowning the parks. The overcast off season lends to a very eerie feeling; I had willingly walked into a David Lynch-esque setting. I could see Danceland fitting right into the Twin Peaks series.

VISIT MANITOU BEACH
Manitou Beach (even in the fall) is worth visiting. While I wouldn’t pop into the lake for a polar dip, you can still enjoy the dead sea in a temperature controlled way. The Manitou Springs Resort has an indoor mineral pool. If you’re staying there as a guest, you have unlimited access to the pool. I can confirm it’s the most buoyant water I have ever been in. Highly recommend checking it out.
