Dressed in Black

Locations can sometimes present themselves and timing is everything. We were cruising along the highway going to check our postbox, get a newspaper, and of course, ice cream when we saw this corner parcel of land. The sun was setting in that perfect way it does in the Arizona desert. Every evening is picturesque to the point of banality for the residents. I try to savour as many desert evenings as I can. This one will be burned into my memory. Mostly because we just kept shouting “ommggggg rose quartz AND serenity Pantone magic!!!” As we took 10,000 shots of the setting sun and my dressed in black outfit of course.

Magic Hour

Could the backdrop be any more perfect? Answer: absolutely not. It’s not often that the Pantone Colour of the Year perfectly coincides with exactly how I’m feeling. But this time around it’s spot on. I get the feeling that the colour forecasters MAY have been inspired by Drake’s Hotline Bling music video. Just a hunch though! Or are we going to discover that he’s on the Pantone forecasting board and this is all a set up. Anyway, that song is a bop and Rose Quartz + Serenity are an immaculate choice.
