It’s the beginning of the end of summer which is the exact point when we should be making the most of it and the cognac crusto cocktail recipe is the perfect drink to do just that. I’ll be doing that by indulging myself with bike rides at dusk, buying fresh produce from local gardens, and of course, making fancy cocktails. It’s all about balance, right? Speaking of balance, this Cognac Crusta is the perfect combination of zesty and fresh with a smooooooth taste.

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 oz Hennessy Very Special Cognac
- 3/4 oz Triple Sec (Cointreau)
- 1/2 oz Maraschino liqueurs (Luxardo)
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice plus more for rim
- A of dash bitters (Creole)
- Tangelo (or sub for an orange)
- Muskavado brown sugar (enough to rim glass)
Instructions

- Rim a short highball glass with lemon juice and muskavado brown sugar.
- Place one full spiraled tangelo (or orange) peel in the glass with ice.
- Mix all the liquid ingredients (cognac, liqueurs, lemon juice, bitters) in a with ice.
- Double strain into glass over ice and tangelo peel.
- Spear a maraschino cherry through a toothpick & set as garnish on top.
