A LONG HALLOWEEN MUSIC PLAYLIST

Hello fellow halloweenies! Do you require a plethora of tunes fit for a witching hour? You’ve come to the right place! Here is my ongoing halloween music playlist that I put on shuffle and enjoy throughout the month of October. And, well, let’s be honest, anytime I’m feeling like I need a dose of pumpkins and decaying leaves. Which surprisingly happens more often than one would suspect.

THE BEST HALLOWEEN MUSIC

As per my suggestion on my previous playlist – 90s music all genres, I recommend listening to this playlist on shuffle. Unlike a finely crafted mixtape, this playlist is mashed together without the thought of flow. Spotify is not designed to function like a thoughtful mixtape. Do I wish I could make a cassette and mail one to everyone interested? Yes, of course! But sadly that won’t be happening anytime soon so in the meantime we have this.

WHAT IS HALLOWEEN MUSIC?

Personally, I consider many things halloween music – not just the typical atmospheric haunted house instrumentals. From soundtracks of creepy movies, theme park ride audio (like Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion!) to songs like Lost Boys by the Courtneys which is about the movie, The Lost Boys. Speaking of which, if you’re looking for not scary halloween movies, I just made a post about that too! I digress.

Any fallish Vince Guaraldi songs for Peanuts also makes the list. In addition to that, classic punk bands like The Misfits, AFI, and new wave favourites like The Smiths and Echo + the Bunnymen on there too. If the song has any reference to witchyness, the moon, cemeteries etc, it’s on there. And lastly, the classic rock n roll of Chuck Berry, the Ventures… I think you get the idea.
