Quiet Work Day Music Playlist
On days that require concentration but opting for stark silence isn’t the answer, this post is for you.
While I can work silently, I still prefer filling my space with some soothing dulcet tunes in the background so I’ve created a quiet work day music playlist on spotify. This mix is 51 hours and 45 minutes so it can last your entire work week and then some.
What my serene office looked like in my former home.
Quiet Work Music on Spotify
As I always say in my music playlist posts, I highly recommend pressing shuffle and letting the machine decide on the order of this playlist. This is the optimum way to listen if you don’t want to stumble upon a complete album all in a row. The playlist is a mix of electronic, indie, pop, and oldies.
Best Albums to Listen to While Working
If the length of the playlist feels overwhelming, there are other options. I have recommendations on single albums that are great as background music while you’re working or reading.
AIR – The Virgin Suicides (Original Motion Picture Score)
AIR – Moon Safari
CAMERA OBSCURA – Let’s Get Out Of This Country
CIGARETTES AFTER SEX – Any of their EPs or self titled album
MASSIVE ATTACK – Mezzanine
MOBY – Play
MORCHEEBA – Big Calm
PORTISHEAD – Dummy
THE POSTAL SERVICE – Give Up
THE SMITHS – Hatful of Hollow
There are many more but these are the albums I often come back to when I’m looking for chill music. It should come as no surprise that the majority of this list is from the 90s/early 2000s. Apparently I’m stuck in my teenage interests and that is most evident in my 90s Summer Playlist (all genres).

A much more accurate portrayal of my current office as shown in my Proof of Life post. Please send help.

Now that we have established that I’m stuck in a certain era, I’d love to know what music you like to listen to when working. Are you also stuck in a particular period of time when it comes to your default music choices? Drop me your music recommendations down below in the comments. 🙂
