She’s Gone Country

SHE’S GONE COUNTRY
A sun bleached and weathered barn is the perfect backdrop for a style post titled She’s Gone Country. Having grown up in Alberta it may be a bit cliché that I have a deep love for western wear. But I’m okay with that. Give me all the tooled leather, bolo ties, and cowboy boots. Not to mention full denim tuxedos, square dancing dresses, and all the rest. One of my all-time favourite Barbies were and . I could only dream of having my spurs double as a stamp! I digress. Keep scrolling for a less thematic outfit than Barbie’s.

WESTERN OUTFIT ESSENTIALS
There’s a few items that can turn any outfit western. Tooled leather anything, especially bags and belts. Bolo ties are a favourite of mine. I thrifted various styles but the lucite bolos are top shelf in my collection. Cowboy boots go without saying. This red pair were gifted to me by my mom. She bought them in the 1980s to go to the Calgary Stampede. They’ve aged to perfection and I’m glad to have them.

SHE’S GONE COUNTRY
For someone who’s only qualifications is living in the Texas of Canada when it comes to country lifestyles, I sure have an affinity for the look. Some may say I’m a cowgirl poseur and they would be correct. But that won’t stop me from listening to “She’s Gone Country” while adorning myself in cowpoke finery.
