The Velvet Fog

THE VELVET FOG
No trip to Morocco is complete without purchasing a djellaba to swan around in. My friend and local guide, Emily, took me to her favourite second hand djellaba shop in Marrakech. There, we dug until we each found one that fit like a glove. When I saw the silver detailing peeking out from beneath a tower of fabric, I sensed that I had found the ~one~. It reminded me of David Bowie in a Ziggy Stardust type of way; I had to have it. I had to become the velvet fog! And it fit right in at the Lodge K too.

thrifted vintage djellaba
I like to think of this thrifted vintage djellaba as my fancy Moroccan muumuu. Since I work from home, this garment is quickly becoming my new office attire and I will not apologize. Adding a shred of luxury to my otherwise dreary days toiling away on my computer alone is a welcome reprieve. Dare I say the velvet fog djellaba was the best purchase from my trip?
