I can see why people don’t wait a full year to go through all the products they use…. it’s a lot. A LOT. Welcome to my nightmare: the 2018 Empties Tour. Watch to see just how much product myself (and partner) went through last year. Spoiler alert…. it was many things. I guess this is a video of me going through my trash. I’ve never related to Oscar the Grouch more in my entire life. Enjoy!

A BEAUTY YEAR IN REVIEW
It’s pretty wild seeing it all heaped together. I truly wish there were better recycling programs for beauty products. As it is, so many items contain components that make them non-recyclable. But even recycling is not a great option either – it just helps to justify this endless production of plastic. I love the idea of vintage makeup where you would buy a fancy lipstick bullet and only have to replace the inner tube of lipstick when you finished it. Sigh. Maybe one day we can get back to smarter packaging though my guess is that won’t happen unless it’s profitable to these companies.
