Charlotte Tilbury Eye Colour Magic Collection

The Charlotte Tilbury Eye Colour Magic Collection is the latest offering from the beloved British brand. After receiving a gorgeous package in the mail, I couldn’t resist trying out all four palettes. But of course, I had to make a video reviewing them!

 COLOUR MAGIC

Let’s be real here, at the heart of Colour Magic is colour theory. While it may seem like sorcery or perhaps an absolute grift to others, there is useful wisdom to be found in understanding the way in which colours interact with one another.

In this post, we will delve into the Colour Magic collection. While reviewing the palettes, I will also attempt to explain the way the colours work with one another. 

COPPER CHARGE LUXURY EYE PALETTE

FOR BLUE EYES

First up is the Luxury Eye Palette in Copper Charge. According to colour theory, as a blue eyed gal, these are the eyeshadows to make my eyes POP. Copper / Rust (orange) is the complementary colour of blue thus when combined they make each other more vivid. Look no further than the hockey team from my hometown’s colours (the Oilers). In fact, I wrote a whole post about how to style orange and navy together in outfits.

Overall, I do think the shades in this palette worked best with my eye colour, but I’ll let you be the judge.

SUPER BLUE LUXURY EYE PALETTE

FOR BROWN EYES

Despite this being for brown eyes to make them “amber” I still quite liked it on me. Though, it does water down the blue of my eyes. Couldn’t resist a pun! I think this whole brown eye to amber is a colour theory reach. But if there are any brown eyed beauties out there who noticed a difference, I would love to hear about it!

MESMERIZING MAROON LUXURY EYE PALETTE

FOR GREEN EYES

The colour theory behind this one actually makes some sense. Mesmerizing maroon was made to enhance green eyes. Since a bright red palette isn’t nearly as approachable as this quad, the reddy tones within the maroon shades act as a complementary colour to green. It’s like Christmas colours but smoother.

I quite liked it on my blue eyes too. The colour story is like a sister to the iconic Pillow Talk Palette.

GREEN LIGHTS LUXURY EYE PALETTE

FOR HAZEL EYES

Purportedly the green lights palette will make hazel eyes gold. I suppose these colours would bring out the golden part of hazel? Honestly, how common are hazel eyes? [According to the internet, 5% of people in the world have hazel eyes.] I am part of the 8% of the world that has blue eyes so if anyone can confirm that they love wearing gold shadow on their hazel eyes, I would be grateful.

COLOUR MAGIC EYELINER DUOS

Perhaps the most exciting part of the collection are these duo eyeliners that feature both a matte and a metallic pencil liner. Sadly, I did not have the Maroon duo to test out.
