Full Face of Honest Beauty

It started with the mascara but sure enough I was intrigued to try more. Here is my Full Face of Honest Beauty with the caveat that I only used items currently available in Canada.

The line was created by Jessica Alba with a focus on natural non-toxic products with ethically sourced ingredients. It’s also worth noting that the brand extends beyond just makeup as well!

HONEST BEAUTY EYESHADOW

I was pleasantly surprised by the Honest Beauty Eyeshadow palette. Both the matte and the shimmers are a creamy consistency and VERY soft, which makes blending much easier. The copper colour (right corner of the palette) is easily my favourite, perhaps because it’s complimentary of my blue eyes. Before applying the eyeshadow I used a MAC paint pot in the shade Painterly so I can’t say whether or not that elongated the wear time of the shadows.

HONEST BEAUTY EYELINER

Having hooded eyes makes eyeliner a struggle these days but the Honest Beauty precision point liquid liner was very easy to use. The applicators fine tip made applying a cat eye seamless though a steady hand is always plays a large part too. It dries down as a proper black matte, it doesn’t turn greyish black like some eyeliners do.

HONEST BEAUTY MASCARA

As I mentioned before, this was the first Honesty Beauty makeup products I’ve ever used and liked it so much that I decided to explore the brand more. One side is a lash primer which I don’t always use but probably should considering how miniscule my eyelashes are! This mascara along with the classic Pixi one are my two favourite drugstore picks.

I tried to keep the face products as drugstore as possible for this. Here’s what I used on my face.

HONEST BEAUTY BLUSH, BALMS, AND HIGHLIGHTERS

The Honest Beauty cream blush is a less greasy version of the Fenty Beauty cream blush. Dare I say I like it more? As for the beauty balms, I much prefer the one in the clear square case. The stick version had some type of glitter flakes in it that I wasn’t too keen on. These powder highlighters are good if you like a subtle glow, if not, I would recommend the Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duo highlighter.

LIPS

Lip products are like the bread and butter of most beauty lines and because of that, I believe it’s hard to screw them up. The Honest Beauty tinted lip balm, liquid lipstick, and crayon are all great. They haven’t reinvented the wheel or done anything revolutionary but they get the job done and come in beautiful shades. There’s not much more I could ask for in that department aside from the maybe adding some flavour to the liquid lipstick since the other two lip products were flavored.
