Hydrated Skincare Routine with Neutrogena
This post is sponsored by Neutrogena. All opinions on this blog are my own.
Winter is one of those times when I have to go the extra mile for my skin. Despite putting on my humidifier nightly, I still have to be vigilant when it comes to keeping my skin hydrated. is all about keeping the skin hydrated. It’s a line I’ve been using for a couple of years now so you may recall I included it in My Morning Skincare Routine post. Since then, I’ve also been testing out the other products in the line and here are a few of my favourites for a truly hydrated skincare routine.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Line
The key ingredient in Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line is hyaluronic acid, which helps to lock in your skin’s moisture in. Since it’s a humectant, it retains moisture really well. When I say “really well” I mean EXTREMELY WELL. According to Harvard Health website, hyaluronic acid “is capable of binding over one thousand times its weight in water.” How wild is that? This is absolutely necessary for me living in a dry Canadian climate. Especially in the winter I need all the moisture I can trap!

Morning Hydro Boost Skincare Routine
cleansing
Every morning routine should start with cleansing. A light exfoliation is good every other day as well in order to scrub away the dead skin and start fresh. I’ve loved the Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser for a couple of years now so that’s my first step. It’s not abrasive and leaves my skin feeling fresh. For non exfoliation days, I use the Hydrating Cleansing Gel instead.

serums
Immediately after cleansing and before my face has had the chance to completely dry, I apply my serum. I trap in all the moisture with the Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster with Hyaluronic Acid. Serums are an absolute must in my books. This one in particular combines Vitamin E capsules (known to reduce the damage of UV rays) and purified hyaluronic acid.
cream & spf
The final step of my morning routine is adding a gel moisturizer with SPF. My first choice is the Hydro Boost Gel Cream with SPF 25.

Daily Hydrating SPF
Wearing an SPF daily is not groundbreaking information anymore but I believe it’s still worth emphasizing. Even when we’re indoors UV rays still reaching us which is why SPF should be a non-negotiable step in your daily skincare routine. The Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen SPF 50+ is my go to. It’s lightweight, soaks in quickly and never leaves me feeling sticky. As a person who is very specific about textures I like, this last aspect is of great importance to me.

Night Time Hydro Boost Skincare Routine
In the evening my skincare routine is similar to the morning but with a few more pointed steps added to it.
cleansing
First I wash my face with the Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel. Not only do I love the texture of it but it also comes in an unscented version which I appreciate. It takes off most of my light daily makeup but their Makeup Cleansing Wipes get whatever residue is left.

serums
As I mentioned before, serums are everything! For nighttime, I use the Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum (discontinued) but the Hydro Boost Multi-Vitamin Booster with Hyaluronic Acid would work great too.
Since originally posting this, they have also launched a Hydro Boost Night Pressed Face Serum which I’m curious to try out. In addition to that, there’s also the new Hydro Boost+ Niacinamide Serum too.
moisturizers
Since it’s winter, I top off my face with the Hydro Boost Gel Cream Extra Dry formula which is a fragrance free version too. Neutrogena is really good about offering unscented versions of their products which I truly appreciate as I can be sensitive to scents. After that, I apply The Hydro Boost Gel Eye Cream.

Hydrating Body Care
I typically shower before bed and then moisturize my whole body with the Fragrance-Free Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream. Their scentless option is offered all across their different lines too. Their Whipped Body Balm is also great for dry winters and easy to take along for travel. As for the hands, I always have cream in my bag at all times, the Hydro Boost Hand Gel Cream has been my choice as of late.

Hydrated Skincare Routine with Neutrogena
Taking care of my skin has always been a priority for me, even back when I was using Neutrogena as a teenager. It’s so cool that I’ve been able to partner with a brand I’ve used for decades! Especially since I’m able to talk about some products I’ve been using and loving for years. These are all items you will be seeing in one of my forthcoming empties videos! Thanks so much for supporting the brands that help support this blog.

New Neutrogena Skincare Launches
Neutrogena recently sent me a sneak peak of their latest line, Bright Boost, that promises to restore my skin’s brightness and treat the three main signs of dullness – dehydration, uneven tone, and texture. I can’t wait to try it out! It’s available now at Shoppers Drug Mart. And for Canadians, if you buy anything from this line from @shoppersdrugmartofficial, you can get 5x the Optimum points until January 24th 2020.
