A Bold Coat at the Butterdome
A Bold Coat at the Butterdome
Every year it’s the same thing. I dread, accept, and then loathe the snow, especially when it won’t eff off in spring. Though I’ve lived in places where the crocuses would be blooming right now, I can’t get on that train of thought or else madness will ensue. Instead of resenting the weather, I’m going to stand near buildings that are the colour of warmer seasons. My new strategy begins with a bold coat at the Butterdome.
THE CHEESE STANDS ALONE
Can you believe there’s a building that not only has all the characteristics of a butter brick but also goes by the name Butterdome? Literal names always reminds me of characters in Blues Clues. Which are the complete opposite of Cheese Bridge in Super Nintendo,a level with ZERO cheese-like visuals. I digress. Keep scrolling for style.
Higher Platform = Further From Snow
Never have I claimed to wear reasonable footwear. Sensible winter shoe choices are reserved for running errands etc. In the winter, you either need a sturdy snow boot that will block the -30 windchill or a platform that allows you to rise above. Now you may be thinking: “Seriously? Those are the options?” Well guess what, there’s a third option: move away. If that were a viable option at the moment, I wouldn’t have to write at length about cold weather dressing like in 3 Ways to Dress for Outdoor Adventures (With Style).

Body-Ody-Ody-Ody Suit for Warmth
My bodysuit may be long sleeve, but the mesh and lace does little for insulation. What I lack in fabric around my midsection, I make up for in other sensible ways. The wool duster coat is doing the heavy lifting in terms of warmth in this outfit. Though not as warm as my TNA Blackcomb Parka. Perhaps I should take a lesson from myself and actually layer up. Where would the fun be in that? If I’m going to freeze, I might as well do it in a ice cold blaze of glory. Even my rose gold tinted hair won’t keep me warm here. Anyone with vibrant hued hair should check out my thoughts on What to Wear When You Have Pink Hair.
COBALT BLUE BOLD COAT IS A WINTER STAPLE
Yet another winter look with my cobalt blue wool London Fog coat that I cannot stop wearing. Enough years have passed that I can’t even remember when exactly I thrifted it. With that said, I do believe it entered my style lexicon sometime during university. Over the years it’s made several cameos such as the most recent appearance in the Neon Bridge post. Timeless pieces truly do transcend trends.
