TNA Blackcomb Parka

TNA BLACKCOMB PARKA
Canada is a hamster wheel of unpredictable weather. One week its +7 and I’m wearing a denim jacket, the next week it’s -10 and snowing again. Because of this, I never fully put away my winter clothes. I would much rather be layered up and warm than the alternative. Fortunately, I was sent the coat of my winter dreams from Aritzia – the TNA Blackcomb Parka. Here’s how I styled it.

WHEN Style Meets Function in a winter coat
This Aritzia parka (which is currently on sale) has a number of notable features. Firstly, it is actually attractive. Too often I find winter coats to be tacky and this is anything but! It’s also wind and water resistant which comes in handy during windchill warnings or unpredictably melty weather. The vegan faux fur lining and hood are a nice touch too. Not only is it warm, but it has ample pocket space to hold all of my essentials – wallet, keys, lip balm, and gloves. Half the time I don’t even bother bringing a bag anymore. My coat is my bag.

Keeping warm in the winter – parka & footwear
Keeping warm in the winter is not an easy task if you’re also trying to balance it with style. My biggest advice is to find a jacket that you love and a good pair of boots. The rest is fairly interchangeable. I have my one -40 pair of Sorel boots and the 3.1 Phillip Lim shearling pair for when I want to be more “dressed up.” And lastly, natural fibers over synthetics when it comes to toques! I find that acrylic woven fabric doesn’t breathe as well which makes my hair get greasy WAY faster. When I wear wool, static hair is less of a thing.

Thanks CC!
Hi! just wondering if you think this parka will be warm enough for sub zero temperatures in the winter? I live in Buffalo, NY and have been eyeing this coat for a while but its quite an investment so I was wondering about what your thoughts are on it. Thanks!! Appreciate the help 🙂
I live in Edmonton where the temperature drops as low as -40 (plus a windchill) in the winter and this coat kept me warm all through last season! It’s very durable and warm, the only thing I would do differently is go one size up so I could layer more underneath! Hope that helps! x
i love this parka -am thinking of buying it online! I was wondering how long it was for you? How tall are you?
I’m 5’4″ and it comes down to around my knees 🙂
What size did you go with
I *wish* went with the medium because it’s quite form fitting and I wanted some room for a sweater underneath 🙂 It’s a size small.
Hope that helps!
