Ice Skate Date Outfit

ICE SKATE DATE OUTFIT
My Boxing Day ice skate date was made extra special with this outfit paired with the weird pilot project disco lights in the forest. I could have done without the bitter wind chill though. Thankfully my vintage floor length fur (that is ten times more glamorous than any pair of long johns) was the right choice of coat despite the teenagers who had a good laugh at my expense. They were legit shouting “There’s a polar bear in the house!!!” I truly believed that I was past the point of being ridiculed by children, but here we are.

WHAT I WORE
How I would describe this skating outfit look is my inner Real Housewives of the North realized. I even have my tag line worked out. Tell me what you think of it: “I’m not ‘on’ until my eyebrows are.” BOOM. Andy Cohen, give me my show. Fuzzy white layers over black warm base layers. The top layers are the showstoppers, the bottom layers are functional.

VICTORIA PARK ICEWAY
Now that you have the perfect outfit inspiration, might I suggest the spot to go. The Victoria Park oval rink has a new addition. Through the trees is a magical lit corridor called the IceWay. For those of you in Edmonton, this is THE spot to go skating (in my opinion). It’s free and there’s a great indoor space to change from street shoes to skates.

Best tag line! haha
What a great shoot Sandy! Makes me want to strap on some skates and my fur hooded winter coat and glide.
