TOP 5 RED LIPSTICKS

One of the most frequently asked questions on my blog is “What red lipstick is that?” The following list is my top 5 red lipsticks. They’re a combination of both longtime favourites and newly discovered shades. Regardless, each shade will give you a retro hollywood siren red pout. Some girls love nail polish, I LOVE lipstick.

1. MAC POWER MATTE RUBY WOO

is my number 1 go-to as it seems to stay on FOREVER and is that perfect blue-y cold toned red. Caution – if you’re drinking red wine and are around a bunch of not so great friends you may be subject to staining this lipstick darker and no one will tell you you look foolish. It’s happened to me.

2. CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE VELVET

– Creamy but matte. Applies easy and the case is spring loaded – you will never smoosh this lipstick into the cap.

3. STILA STAY ALL DAY LIQUID LIPSTICK

– They are not kidding when they say stay all day. This lipstick is insanely unstoppable. You will never make up remover to get it off though. When applied it looks like a gloss but quickly dries into matte perfection.

4. KAT VON D PAINTED LOVE LIPSTICK

5. GIVENCHY LE ROUGE

– This may have started as a impulse purchase during a Sephora VIB event but it is love now. Highly creamy with a semi gloss finish without the stickiness of gloss. It is a highly scented lipstick which I’ve never really come across – not sure how I feel about that yet.

That concludes my top 5 red lipsticks. These shades are more on the brighter end of the spectrum. I do have a whole other list of darker moody red shades too. Shall I compile a second list?
