How to Wear Vests as Shirts

Vests as Shirts
There are very few style tips that I adhere to. However, there is the odd one that has rung true year after year. Adding a belt to something can completely change the structure of a garment. That’s where vests as shirts come in. Vests are just one belt away from becoming a shirt. Much like a blazer is one belt away from becoming a dress. The trick is to find a vest large enough that you can belt it and still have some wiggle room to create drape & volume. I chose this striped woven vest that gave me big bathmat energy. As the armholes were a little bit larger, the outfit had two sides of sideboob but I was into it.

WALLACE, IDAHO
A complete sidenote, but the back alleys of Wallace, Idaho are amazing. In fact, the entire town is rad. When the state wanted to level the entire town to build the interstate, the town banded together. They applied for heritage status on every single property in town. And when a building has heritage status, it cannot be knocked down. Pretty badass on their part. Check out my Wallace Idaho Fall Road Trip Vlog for a taste of the town. It’s incredible.
