Bold Summer Lipsticks
I’m a fan of the classic red lip but there’s always room for experimentation when it comes to summer lipstick choices. There are a few hues I’ve been leaning into as the weather warms up, especially a certain bright cerulean blue. What makes these bold lipsticks wearable is their matte and satin finishes. They’re a subdued loud lip without high shine. With that said, let’s explore my favourite Bold Summer Lipsticks.

Tinted Balms
Tinted balms are a nice way to dip your toe into the bold lipstick department without having to fully commit. These two Tom Ford shades in Neotropic and Pure Shores have been on heavy rotation for me. They are a more pigmented balm option. [Both balms were gifted by the brand.]
Bonus: they come in a “clutch” size which means they’re about 2/3 the size of a regular lipstick. Because they’re so petite, they are the perfect size for a small summer handbag.

Popsicle Lips
Ever wanted your lips to look they’ve been dyed by a Popsicle? Look no further than the Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate palettes. They allow you to blend and shade your lips with two complementary tones. This is my grape popsicle look I created with the Saboteur palette. The other palette, Automatic, is neutral and just as gorgeous but not BOLD in nature. [Both palettes were gifted by the brand.]

Disco Lips
Stellar is a new brand that’s on my radar. I love their Moon Disco line of lipsticks because they’re the perfect amount of glitter without the shininess of a cream lipstick. [Both lipsticks were gifted by the brand.]

The gold is one of the bolder shades from this line because it’s so unexpected and belongs on a lit dance floor. (Lit as in legit lights in the floor).

Metallic Moon is the gold shade and Pink is called Astral Punch. Side note, the blush I’m wearing is also by Stellar. The shade is called Eclipse and it is similar to NARS’ Orgasm.

Blue Monday
I was very excited when MAC Rockers Matte Lipstick line launched earlier this year because I LIVE for a quirky matte lip. Blue Bang! and Darling Clementine are my two favourites. They’re so bright and a lot more versatile than I had originally anticipated. [All lipsticks were gifted by the brand.]

The other two shades which I love dearly but didn’t really suite my skin tone were Jean Genie and Flatter Me Fierce.
Moody Blues
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils have long been a love of mine. Train Bleu was my grungy go to shade for the longest time! Unspoken, a matte midnight blue, is my new replacement for the discontinued Train Bleu. I love creating a two tone lip with NARS Unspoken and the MAC Rockers in Blue Bang! [Both lipsticks were gifted by the brand.]
