Melt x Beetlejuice Full Collection
Dare I say I have never been as excited for a makeup launch than I was for the Melt x Beetlejuice Full Collection? Not only is this collaboration a welcomed piece of joy in what has been a bad year, it’s also SO WELL DONE.
This whole collection really brought me back to my Punk Makeup Livejournal Tutorial days when I used to scroll the forum getting inspiration. In addition to that, my childhood was spent watching the cartoon version of Beetlejuice and getting the song “Shop till you freak at the spooky boutique” stuck in my head for decades.
If anyone relates to this, definitely keep scrolling for the YouTube video tutorial / review as well as a full breakdown of the collection.
BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE
It’s rare that a brand is able to take IP like Beetlejuice and actually make such a perfect collection but Melt did it with ease. Often I’m disappointed by the lack of attention to detail but every item in this line had such thought behind it and as a super fan, I appreciated it deeply.

Makeup brush case embossed with a sandworm and the Lydia Dancing mirror! (I wish they had made stickers of her dancing too.)
RECENTLY DECEASED EYESHADOW PALETTE
The first eyeshadows I tried out were from the Recently Deceased palette. This 8 pan eyeshadow palette has all the classic colours you associate with Beetlejuice – purple and slimy green.
A few of the matte shades were debossed with an image of the man himself which I thought was a cute addition though it made me not want to ruin the picture.

UTTERLY ALONE – metallic dark purple

While the majority of the main hero products in these two looks are from this Melt collection, there are a few other things I used. In case anyone wants to know what, I’ve listed it all below.
PRODUCTS USED IN THE RECENTLY DECEASED LOOK
EYES / BROWS
MAC – Paint Pot in Painterly
MELT x BEETLEJUICE
– Recently Deceased Palette
– Utterly Alone Gel Eyeliner
CHARLOTTE TILBURY – Eye Cheat
HONEST BEAUTY – 2-in-1 Mascara
BENEFIT – Ka-BROW 2 Blonde + 3D Browtones 2 Blonde
FACE
LAURA MERCIER – Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector in Petal
SHISEIDO – Blush in Alpen Glow
CHARLOTTE TILBURY
– Hollywood Flawless Filter in Light 2
– Airbrush Bronzer in 2 Medium
LIPS
Each of the lipstick glides on fairly easily and was also very pigmented. They’re halfway between a matte and a satin. As for the lip paint, it was extremely goopy but not in a bad way. Both formulas felt comfortable to wear.
I only mention the goopy-ness of the lip paint because I can foresee it gumming up the applicator and the tube over time.
MELT x BEETLEJUICE
– Calypso Lipstick
– It’s Showtime Lip Paint
MELT COSMETICS X BEETLEJUICE LIP PAINT
STRANGE AND UNUSUAL – metallic red (would be so good for Rocky Horror!)
IT’S SHOWTIME – metallic purple
WEIRDER AND WEIRDER – metallic black (and the title of my memoir)
WAITING ROOM EYESHADOW PALETTE
The Waiting Room eyeshadow palette has 10 pans whereas the Recently Deceased palette only has 8. Unclear why they did this however the packaging is the same size for both.
Again the shadows are very pigmented and easy to blend which makes playing around with makeup much more fun. The less frustration with products leads to the best outcomes since your creativity can flow without disruption.
WAITING ROOM EYESHADOW NAMES

Obituary | No Exit | Sawed Girl | Dante’s Inferno | Lydria
Char Man | Tombstone | Shrunken Head | Juno | Sandworm
The plastic sheet to protect the eyeshadows was a film still from the waiting room in Beetlejuice featuring the sawed in half lady. This is such a cool little detail and looks rad when backlit. I feel like I want to put a lightbox behind it and use it as a weird little night light.
PRODUCTS USED IN THE WAITING ROOM LOOK
I found this eyeshadow palette more intimidating to work with since the colours were out of my comfort zone. Surprisingly though I was pleased with how it all turned out – who knew grey and red could look this good together?

MELT COSMETICS EYESHADOW REVIEW
The Beeltejuice Collection was my first experience with Melt eyeshadows – or anything Melt Cosmetics for that matter. I’ve always heard good things overall.
Both eyeshadow palettes were VERY pigmented yet creamy which hasn’t been my experience with vibrant shadows in general. The shades were easy to blend and didn’t become patchy during the process.
I can’t speak for their other eyeshadows but the ones in this collection were a joy to play with.
I have yet to try the mascara because I didn’t want to open another new tube without having used up my old one. The tube is made out of metal and feels substantial to hold.
I wish they made the eyeshadow palettes out of this instead of the plastic.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MELT X BEETLEJUICE COLLAB
There are a few highlight for me from the Melt Cosmetics x Beetleljuice Collection that I think are worth checking out.
UTTERLY ALONE GEL LINER
An eyeliner that is not only a stunning shade of purple but also dreamy to apply. Plus the packaging is super cute and can be repurposed when it’s finished up.
RECENTLY DECEASED EYESHADOW PALETTE
If you had to pick one of the two palettes, this is the one I would go with. Yes there are two pans less but the colours are much more friendly for everyday usage. It also captures the essence of Beetlejuice. BUT I can see leaving this one behind if the colours don’t speak to you and you’re not a fan of the IP. Though I assume everyone reading this probably is a fan to some degree.
BRUSHES / MIRROR
The makeup brush set and mirror (aside from the eyelash curler) aren’t ephemeral like cosmetics in the line so if you want something long lasting, these are the best option.
MELT X BEETLEJUICE FULL COLLECTION
Overall, the whole line was a treat to play with. Some of the colours might not get as much use as the others (in particular the Ghost with The Most matte army green) but the majority are great. Not only is this a collection for super fans, but the products can stand on their own for anyone who gravitates toward the colour stories.
