Hideout Distro
Hideout Distro is a magical shop located on Edmonton’s bustling and eclectic 124th street in Edmonton. It was formerly located in Vacancy Hall (you can see that old location in my past post.) Tory Culen, the owner wanted to create a space that promoted other independent designers and thus the shop came to exist.

2025 Update
As of 2025, this shop is no longer has this brick and mortar location. In its incarnation, Hideout is a small batch candle and body care line that’s available online.

A Look Inside Hideout Distro
The store is stacked full of both local and international talent from prints, patches, pins, jewelry, fragrances, pottery, leather goods, t shirts, and records. There’s also an epic vintage section.

With its clubhouse like feel, it’s easy to wander down 124th street from Duchess Bakery for a coffee and go curl up in Tory’s vintage sectional couch for the duration of the afternoon. It’s cozy and welcoming.

While that dreamy scenario isn’t an option right now due to self-isolation, Hideout is still open virtually on their website as well as offering local deliveries!

Niche Beauty Brands
Hideout carries a number of niche beauty and fragrance brands some of which are even local. I get my fix of Boy Smells candles from there!

Libertine, now rebranded as Paraphrase, is an Edmonton made fragrance brand. They’re vegan and cruelty free.
Indie Music
One thing you’ll always find at Hideout is the latest releases from indie bands on all formats. Cassette tapes and vinyl as well as band merch.

Hideout Distro Edmonton
Sad to say goodbye to this beloved spot but I’m glad it still lives on at least online in some capacity.
