Sally Hansen x Beetlejuice Nail Polish Review
Rarely do I dabble in the nail arts, nor do I get excited about polish launches. It takes something a little off beat to shake me out of complacency when it comes to my nails. The Sally Hansen x Beetlejuice nail polish collection did that for me. Here’s my review of the latest launch thanks to the wonderful Beetlejuice themed beauty box I was sent from Warner Bros Canada.

Prior to this launch, my last nail odyssey was with all polishes in the shade blue. Specifically the Sally Hansen Crayola blue, Jinsoon in Aero as well as Cool Blue. Funny enough, this time around I have yet to try the the cornflower blue Beetlejuice shade called Weirder & Weirder yet.

Along with this nail polish collaboration, I was also sent the NYX Cosmetics collection that I reviewed in another post which you can read all about here: Beetlejuice x NYX Cosmetics Collection.
BEETLEJUICE NAIL POLISH SHADES
The Sally Hansen x Beetlejuice collection has a total of 8 shades, 7 of which are solid colours and a topcoat with rectangular glitter. All of the polishes are from the miracle gel line, which is supposed to last up to 8 days. The colours are:
Glitter – Ghost with the Most
Black – The Afterlife
White Grey – Tombstone
Slime Green – Bio Exorcist
Cornflower Blue – Weirder & Weirder
Heliotrope Purple – Say it 3 Times
Sandworm Lips Red – Strange & Unusual
Cardinal Yellow – Hello my name is Bob

All of the shades are pretty true to their real life colour aside from Strange & Unusual. I assume it’s inspired by Lydia’s dress however it reads more coral red than it does proper blood red.
My favourite shade has to be Bio Exorcist because it’s very similar to a nail polish of my sisters that I coveted in the 90s. That particular polish was from Bootlegger. It made an impression on me because I still think about it to this day. The brand might have been an house one but I cannot recall.

SALLY HANSEN MIRACLE GEL
As far as formulas go, I find Miracle Gel to actually last a little longer than typical polishes. I am not easy on my nails by any means. Patience is not an attribute I posses when painting my nails, so a polish that is pigmented enough to be solid in two coats as well as dry quickly is my preference. Thankfully, the colours I have tried of Miracle Gel do just that.

DIY BEETLEJUICE MANICURE
My natural nails have been destroyed by my pesky cuticle ripping habit so I’ve been dabbling in the world of press on nails. For this DIY Beetlejuice manicure I used KISS imPRESS white short press-on nails. I chose the most classic (in my opinion) Beetlejuice colours for this manicure. Purple, black, and green.

NAIL ART MASKING STICKERS
Finding masking stickers used to be fairly easy but now they were nowhere to be found in store this time around. Instead of professional tools, I used a combination of washi tape and label printing stickers, The latter of which I do not recommend – they leave behind a terrible film!

DIY NAIL PAINTING STANDS
Again, I am an amateaur and improvised with painting stands since I didn’t want to attempt painting while the nails were adhered to my fingers. For this I used big paper clips and sticky tack. It’s decent in a pinch, but not ideal.

SALLY HANSEN X BEETLEJUICE NAIL POLISH REVIEW
While on the one hand I’m thrilled that this collection exists, I’m also sad that it’s limited edition. I will definitely be looking out to colour match a couple of the shades when I inevitably finish them.
