Vintage Poncho in Pioneertown

VISITING Pioneertown
If you turn off the Twentynine Palms highway in between the most amazing antique stores, a winding path will lead you to the old west. Pioneertown, which was once used as a movie set, is a western village full of character. My love of four-eyed cacti was born here thanks to my new best cactus friend. Naturally, I had to dress for the occasion. Sadly The End Vintage Shop wasn’t open while we were in town, but fortunately I came prepared with a partially thrifted look. Here’s my vintage poncho in pioneertown!

STAY NEARBY: the Pioneer Motel is right in town or consider Staying at the legendary Joshua Tree Inn just down the road.

VINTAGE PONCHO IN PIONEERTOWN
My perfect desert outfit always involves jorts (jean shorts, natch). When paired with a poncho and some comfy moc’s, the experience feels truly desert appropriate. Though my loudly patterned vintage blouse from my Pioneertown Style post might be my favourite combo.

Having a drink at the famous Pappy & Harriet’s would have been the perfect finish to this day, unfortunately we were through town on a day they were closed. All the more reason to visit again soon. It’s just across the canyon from the Coachella Valley so when you run out of Things to do in Palm Springs, be sure to head on over.
