Rocky Horror Picture Show Columbia Costume
Who is your favourite character from this cult classic cinematic treasure? Mine is definitely a tie between Columbia and Magenta. (You may have already seen my DIY Magenta Costume.) Although, Meatloaf is pretty cool too. Heck, who am I kidding – they’re all great in their own way. This movie always makes my list of faves for the season, you can see the full list on my Halloween Movies that Aren’t Scary post. With that said, here is my take on a Rocky Horror Picture Show Columbia Costume.

Rocky Horror Costumes
Whenever I’ve attended the late night picture show, I’ve always defaulted to a Janet costume. It’s easy and Susan Sarandon is a total babe. Plus, finding a skirt slip, white bra, white pumps, and a handbag wasn’t a stretch. And if you’re anything like me attending the movie always seems, without fail, completely last minute. This year I decided to attempt something a little more complicated – the iconic Columbia.

Columbia Rocky Horror Red Hair
In my quest to get Columbia’s red hair, I discovered a false beauty promise: temporary hair colour is a lie. Did you know that the washout out hair dye in a spray can that’s sold around halloween is not so “temporary”? It most definitely stains white floors. How do I know? Personal experience of course! Tragic, tragic personal experience. This is actually a public service announcement about not ruining your home. I joke. But seriously, spray this stuff outside or put down newspaper because it’s truly a mess. And be prepared for the colour to stain your hair.
