Beetlejuice Halloween Costume

DRESSING UP AS BEETLEJUICE FOR HALLOWEEN
This will most likely be the year of a million Beetlejuice Halloween Costumes but I think in this particular case, the more the merrier!
If you’ve been to my site before, you likely know that I’m a fan. From the Melt Cosmetics Beetlejuice collection to the most recent NYX Beetlejuice collab, there are more than a few posts around here in celebration of this cult classic movie. (And of course the cartoon!)

VINTAGE KENNER BEETLEJUICE MASK
The Beetlejuice Kenner mask is from 1990 and features a fun reveal. When pressing the attached button, the mask reveals snakes hiding in the tufts of unkempt hair.

What a hilariously gross little piece of nostalgia! The packaging is top notch, but the mask smells like what I assume Billy Butcherson’s breath after his mouth was cut open in Hocus Pocus. Putrid. Plastic does not age well, let this be a reminder.

Despite the less than desirable scent, the mask has managed to stand the test of time otherwise. Visually, it’s perfect.

A BEETLEJUICE SUIT
Yes, I could have either painted a white suit black striped or vice versa, however, Halloween Costumes had the PERFECT one. Indeed there is a website that is called “Halloween Costumes”, if only everything in life could be this straight forward.
The Beetlejuice Halloween Costume is produced by their in house label, which is higher quality than the average Spirit Halloween selection. The suit jacket and pants are sold separately which is nice because you can select different sizes for both. They’re made well enough to be worn as everyday clothing. The fabric isn’t see through and the lapels are silky feeling.

Outfit Details
BLAZER – Beetlejuice Blazer
PANTS – Beetlejuice Striped Pants
NECKTIE – Black Necktie
SHIRT – White dress shirt
One fun detail from this particular costume is the lining within the suit jacket. It features an electric green pattern with Beetlejuice, sandworms, the ghost polaroid, and of course the Handbook for the Recently Deceased. A modern classic!

OTHER BEETLEJUICE ACCESSORIES
To complete the outfit I used my Levi’s classic white button up shirt though it’s perhaps a little too crisp. For true authenticity, thrift a stained button up or better yet, age it yourself!
In addition to that, I wore vintage slime green knit socks paired with thrifted Doc Martens Classic Oxfords.
Here’s my Instagram reel of the outfit in motion for your viewing pleasure.

HANDBOOK FOR THE RECENTLY DECEASED
But of course a notebook version of the Handbook for the Recently Deceased is a nice touch to the overall look. If I was a prop master, I would have made it my business to have the book actually written too. When I immerse into a world, I am 100% committed to being within it.

BEETLEJUICE HALLOWEEN COSTUME
Whenever I imagine myself getting into character for my Beetlejuice halloween costume, I always find myself channeling a used car salesperson. He’s like a deranged Saul Goodman.
Have you ever dressed up as a character from Beetlejuice?
