Walking Around Paris

OBLIGATORY TOURIST SHOTS

PALAIS DE TOKYO
A trip to Paris is never complete without stopping by the chemical photobooth at the Palais de Tokyo. Whenever I stumble across a Fotoautomat in Europe, I get overly excited. They are slowly disappearing and I hate it.

ART NOUVEAU ARCHITECTURE
As much as I enjoy the randomness of London streets – a mix of tudor, brutalism, victorian, edwardian, and on and on I love the uniformity of Paris. Even within those seemingly homogenous streets, there are differences that complement each other. Gothic, art deco, belle époque and art nouveau etc. It’s a breath of fresh air taking in all the decorative styles.

Art Nouveau magic EVERYWHERE. The door alone is beyond words. Dragons, lizards, a woman with a mink? Even the windows look like a face!

Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées
To all my fellow fashion enthusiasts, this one’s for you. Naturally I had to pay my respects to the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées – home to the Chanel couture runway shows.

Much like the architecture in Paris, the fashions are also a feast for my eyeballs. Sadly I’ve only ever got to enjoy them via style.com but I can dare to dream. In the meantime, I will worship quietly at the doorstep.
Though, to be fair, I did actually enter the building for the Andy Warhol Exhibit at the Grand Palais in 2009.

LUNCH AT SATURNE

WALKING AROUND PARIS
It’s so easy to just follow the Seine and see all the good bits of the city. Taking breaks in parks and the shade of delightful buildings. The tuileries, despite being hella busy in the spring, is a great spot for people watching when taking a break from walking around Paris.
